Ceiling Box for Narrow Strip Lights??

As I understand it, strip lights act as their own metal enclosure and do not require any additional enclosure in the ceiling.

The light I'm looking at using is the narrow 4xT8 Cooper/Metalux fixture at Lowes. The spec sheet shows it as being 2-11/16" where it mates to the ceiling so any 3" ceiling box it not going to be covered.

So my question is, what is the strategy for wiring this, to be followed by insulation and then drywall board. If you secure the wire to the ceiling joist near the lamp how will someone know where to run it through the drywall? (Most likely considering out-sourcing that part of the job)

Leave a loop of the wire hanging down from the ceiling at the location where the connection will be made to the strip light. Drywall installer should make a small hole and pull the wire through. You need to give instruction to the drywall installer.

And to add, hope the SOB hangers don't move the stubbed out NM either...
