does anyone have a better idea for ceiling covering, besides drywall? i have a rather older building, that is small, dark, and really needs lots of lights. i was thinking of corrigated tin or something reflective. what do you think. oh, and something for the UPPER parts of the wall.

Tons of guys on here use corrugated sheet metal. It was brought up yesterday in fact.

I used some salvage paneling. It was not the hideous dark vinyl coated stuff. Regular wood with a grooved pattern. I used furring strips to cover the seams. Painted semi gloss white. Looks fine. I suspect if you used 4X8 sheets It would look way better than mine. I have varying size pieces so that hurts the appearance.

I used vinyl soffit. Easy to instal and a snap to clean with a dust mop. Looks good too.

If you paint the drywall high gloss white, it will brighten the space up and the high gloss will be easier to clean.
