ceiling fan install question

So I am looking at puting two ceiling fans in my 23 x 30 garage (10' ceiling height). The one will be positioned close enough to the garage door that the down rod will need to be about 8-12" to clear. The question is this: Is it better to mount both fans with the same down rod length, or just mount the one higher up to clear the garage door and the other at a 'recommended' height?

It won't make a whole lot of difference in air flow.

Do them both the same.

And in reality, you want as much clearance as possible.

I used a cheap 42" surface mount with no down rod, works fine.
