Ceiling Fan/Light question

So we just got my son a new bed, loft type, and realized something we never thought about after we assembled it in his room. The ceiling fan extends over the bed, it clears, but we're concerned about my son waking up and hitting the fan or something. We want to replace the fan/light combo with just a flush mount led light fixture. The question I have is with the way the current setup is wired in. The room has a double switch, one controls the fan, the other controls the light. What is the safest way to handle this when I install just a light?

I was hoping to find a fixture that had a light with a built in night light so I could still use both switches and not worry about a possible live wire situation :shocking: without a connection but I am unable to find anything like that. I know in our previous house we installed a combo unit in our bathroom that had light, night light, and exhaust fan in one so I was thinking I would be able to find a light/night light combo. Does anyone know of anything like this available?

,,,, cap one wire and just use one switch...?

or just go find a fixture with double or triple bulbs, re-wire to your liking? one switch for each bulb(s), if you want to keep both switches.

The lights will share the same neutral and the same circuit breakers, just a different switched output.?

You could always disconnect the second unused wire at the switch location, and thus eliminate the possibility of it becoming energized. I would just put a T/Y on it and tuck it up in the box, because it's safe and easy.

Had this happen at my daughters house, we just put a shorter down rod on the fan. They sell several lengths of downrods at Lowes if that will help. If not, replace with a light and wire nut the unused wire that powered the fan. Done.
