I have a ceiling fan that the light stopped working on. Fan was new when the house was built 10 years ago. When I took the light off and put a voltmeter on the wires it read 7 volts. So I take the fan down and go buy a brand new one...Same problem, fan works great, but the light barely turns on, the filament on the light bulb glows so dim it's orange, not white....any help?

How many wires come into the ceiling box. Almost seems like your missing a neutral. Take a pic of wires and how you have them connected if you can. Check all the connections in the switch box also

Replace the controller for the remote in the ceiling fan and the remote itself. They should come as a kit at Home Depot. I have had the same problem a couple of times. Our fan is about ten years and have replaced the remote twice. I was told by someone that it is caused by one of the electrical parts in the controller and does not let the light get to full brightness.

The fan isn't even 24 hours old
