Doing some remodeling. Due to stud placement and the air duct, we can only have a single gang receptacle to handle the light switch for the closet, ceiling light and the ceiling fan. I have exhausted my search abilities to find a solution. Any thoughts?

Depending on your layout and preference, you can put the closet light switch inside the closet and use a double paddle for the fan/light. Also, check your box fill if you use the 3 paddle combo switch.

Thank you! Also was thinking of possibly putting the light for closet on a remote switch? Also the aesthetic component.

My wife doesn’t want the switch inside the closet, which was also my initial solution.

If your walls are open enough to permit additional wiring, there's also a door switch. Here's one version

These go on the hinge side of the door. Be aware that most of these are not adjustable. If you've got a big gap between the door and the jamb, it may not press the button in far enough to turn off the light.

Doesn't look like a lot of space in the door switch box, so you'll probably have to run a single cable switch loop. Yeah I know, its technically not code, but you'll never need a neutral for that switch, and WTF you gonna do? Put a single gang jbox inside the closet, input cable to the jbox, output cable from jbox to light, switch loop cable from jbox to door switch, blank it off. Or be fancy and put a regular switch in the jbox to use when the door switch craps out.

They make light bulbs with motion sensors built into them that you could use in the closet.
They make light bulbs that work with wireless switches that you could use for both the closet and the ceiling fan. Dimmable, too. Mount the switch wherever is convenient.
They make small fixtures with motion sensors built into them that you could use in the closet.
They make light bulbs that work with from an app, too.
Lots of options.
