Looking to put a couple fans in my new shop. Anybody using something they like? I was all set to use the big home depot ones but they are backordered indefinitely. .

Looking for something that actually moves air, looks industrial or plain and doesn't have lights. i could go as high as 200ish a piece of i had to.

Thanks in advance!

I recently used some Leading Edge brand industrial quality ceiling fans on a construction project, depending on the size you want they may fit your budget...here's one place that sells them online, but shop around and you may be able to find them for less.

If you're planning on more than one, they also sell controllers that can run multiple fans from a single device.

Thanks stuart! Looks like these are one speed unless you purchase an add on controller. Am i understanding that right? I have a single gang wall box i was hoping to control both from... Will these operate with a regular single switch for the 1 speed?

Can you mount them above, or between, the lights?
I find the strobe like shadows real distracting.
I just use 2 window style box fans mounted in the corners to get a circle draft going.

I have 10' between fixtures, i'm hoping to avoid that also. Thanks!

I am running two fans with a single wall controller. That seems to work fine for me. Can’t say much about the fans I’m using - they were given to me by my brother when his work upgraded. They are probably 48” each.

You can find more information on the manufacturer's website here: https://www.marleymep.com/products/leading-edge/heavy-duty-industrial-ceiling-fans (click on downloads when you get to that site.) If you just want a single speed, just put in a regular light switch and run them in parallel. They do have speed controllers as well that fit a regular electrical box, and you can run multiple fans off a single one of them as well.

I've got 3) 54" Canarm industrial fans from Northern. I think $79 a piece or somewhere close to that. That was 3 years ago, so probably more now. They're all controlled by the single controller seen here. Variable speed, reversible. They work good, move a lot of air, and don't hum.

Not gonna find one of those for $200 or less.

Nooooooope.

$2,600 for the "small" 7 foot shop fan.

$600 for the "Haiku" 52" home ceiling fan.

Crikey, their two foot long LED light is $400.

I'm sure Big *** stuff is great, but... 10X as great as the stuff normal people buy? I guess some people think so.

I had planned to use two 7 ft dia fans in my three car garage but ended up with two lifts so only had space for one fan. I bought the Home Depot 7 ft model which really moves a lot of air and has 6 speeds and is reversible. Don't need a second one. Reasonable price too as compared to the Big *** models. Unfortunate it's out of stock because that one would work fine for you.

Just installed two 52" in my 22x30.
Works great, you can feel air moving anywhere I stand in the garage.
Got them on closeout from HD for $63 and they are damp rated, reversible, and 3 speed (4 if you count off I guess): http://www.homedepot.com/p/Hampton-...Ceiling-Fan-with-Light-Kit-YG188-WH/100630901

Very recent....as in 2 weeks ago. Just installed 2 Westinghouse 56" industrial fans.
Best price I could find (including the shipping) was Mills Fleet Farm. These are 5 speed fans and seem to move some air. These are in a 36' x 26' w/ 10ft ceilings. They come with controllers and after reading that some people had issues controlling multiple fans off one controller, I opted to put each fan on it's own. The controllers are a little bulky, so I made an alum. plate to mount to the electrical box and then mounted the 2 controllers to it....so far, so good.

I think you will be happy going that route.

Original ceiling fans (pre-AC) .. had long blades with high pitch spinning slowly -- strong motors to move the blades. Now they spin like a propeller.

I have to old Hunter 52" -- with 4 high pitch blades ... they just move the air around without making wind. The wall type are too noisy.

Those are good fans I have 1 in my shop, 6 total ceiling fans two black, three white, one chrome, Lol.My electrician loved the mismatched fans, thats my style. On the two above the doors came without lights but not enough room for regular light when door up so I mounted a single bulb 2ft led light works awsome.
