Working on my pole barn shop design. 40x64x14 building, flat metal ceiling, with overhead radiant tube heat running lengthwise down the center. Two row of lights either side of the heater. I would most likely mount fans as close to the ceiling as possible to keep them above the lights ( canceling the strobe effect, I learned that here on GJ,Thanks). Would you plan for 2 or 4 fans? Location is Crossville Tn, "moderate" winters and summers. Shop will be heat only, no A/C planed at this time

lighting plan is not finalized as of yet. May be kinda dependent on fans / location and size of lights used. They will be led's for sure. I'm thinking along the lines of 2 rows, 10' ft in from the side walls and stager the centers either side of the radiant tube. The number of lights in each row will depend on the power of each one.

40x64x16 I run two 3 blade Home Depot fans all winter to pull the heat down. I have a hot air furnace with no duct work so it just blowes it at the ceiling. No issues.

Hunter used to be the way to go before 2002 when they moved production overseas. You can still find good used ones where people are remodeling. The last forever.

My build thread or HVAC thread have fans listed.

Used Emerson "Heat Fans", non reversible warehouse fans designed to be used up to 40' high. Over 10,000 cfm capable. Emerson recently sold their fan line. It's now Luminance Brands.
