Ceiling height for 2 post lift

Hey Everyone,

I have a 2 post lift that's installed in a space with a ceiling that's too low. It's better than no lift at all but I'm getting tired of working bent over or sitting on a stool. Ceiling height right now is between 9-10' on the low side.

I'm putting together a plan to raise the roof and it looks like I can pretty easily end up with a flat ceiling that's between 12' & 12'6". If you have a lift and a 12' ceiling, I'm interested in hearing from you. Do you ever wish the ceiling was a little bit higher?

How tall are you?

Makes a big difference if you’re ‘5’2”or 6’5”.

If you can get to flat and 12', how about scissor trusses to get a bit more?

I'm about 6'5" with shoes on, so 12' wouldn't be great for me if getting under a truck/suv, but a car would be fine

Do you need it to be flat? Can you leave it open or is there a room above or something?
