I purchased 4 ceiling mount speakers off craigslist, so no directions. Man are they ever heavy! The speaker is enclosed inside a can that has knockouts for the wiring. First off I'll have to figure out a secure mounting system between the joists.
Each speaker has 5 wires. I need help figuring what they all do!
Blue, black, green, red and brown. The red and brown have been stripped as if used, the other 3 do not appear to have been used. Where do they go?
I have 14 gauge speaker wire in a protective sheath as the wire will be inside a finished wall after drywalling, and it is the usual 2 wires.
Thanks!
Kurt

Sounds like they may have been from a P.A. distribution system that uses a higher voltage and have step down transformers inside to step it down to the speaker's impedance. If you could open one of them up and let us know what is inside (or a pic of the guts) it might help us to let you know how to use them.
