Any ideas for garage ceiling other than drywall? 1800 sq feet, 16 foot walls. Live in midwest and drywall plaster tends to crack.

Tongue and Groove Flooring? I've seen some places that have this and it looks good when you are going for a certain aesthetic.

I like the look of the white metal panels on shop roofs and it's what I plan to do eventually.

I saw a product on HGTV awhile back that goes up like vinyl siding and locks together in 16" tall sections called Trusscore. PVC corrugated panels.

Only two colors and originally only available in Canada. Now some USA building supply companies carry it.

As others said white tin, that's what I'm doing this winter. I looked at the trusscore also but between the added expense and it's not fire resistant like tin I decided against it. After going through 2 fires at mom's and knowing how things can happen in a fire the more resistant I can make something I will.

Doing white liner steel on my ceiling this winter 40 x 60, interior ceiling is 39'x 59' had it delivered last week, 39pcs @ 20' with screws after tax delivered was $2800, our local building centers (Menards/ Builderfirstsource/ etc. ) can get liner steel which is thinner (29ga) than exterior steel and usually will forgoe the paint warranty for a better price.

Midwest calls theirs Dura-Panel

For large shops it seems the white metal works well. I had a smaller area for my workshop area and was shocked at the price of conventional ceiling products. I ended up using 4x8 faux shiplap panels from HD and framing them in with 1" trim boards. The metal is the way I would go in a large building.

That's a great looking shop! How is the sound in there though? Do you get a lot of sound bounce/reverb from all the metal?
Not at all, as it's well insulated behind the liner panel and there's enough stuff in the building to prevent the empty building echo.

Lots of options

Metal -
M decking
round decking
refrigeration panels

wood -
t&G
siding

suspended ceiling “T bar” like what you see in an office with 2x2 or 2x4 panels - you can paint a color or leave it while lots of drop in tile choices

‘’suspended open grid same as above but no panels - usually panted w/ flat a dark / black dry fall type paint

or just paint rafters w/ “ dry fall “ style pant gives a nice industrial/ modern look kinda popular in restaurants `

you can insulate up at the roof line and cover insulation w/ a SCRM sheeting then paint over top of it
