Ceiling vapor barrier

Hi,

I'm currently finishing my insulation with the roof and I was wondering what I could do with the vapor barrier since my garage doors are already installed.

I mean the rails are already bolted to the trusses with lag bolts. Should I remove them(just doesn't seem good to remove lag bolts from wood and then put them back). I fear that the wood will be weakened. Or do I just go around it ?

Thanks

I would remove the bolts to install the poly moisture barrier and then reinstall them. Snug them up and all is well, no weaker-no stronger.

If your worried about the lag pulling out just before you reinstall the lags fill the holes with PL400
after that you will never get those lag back out.

^^^^^^Something about the wood fibers weakening when you pull a lag out and put back in.
We install x-rays on walls and it is not an acceptable practice to reuse holes for lags.
But that for 800 lb x-rays that need to withstand 1500 lb put out force.
For just a garage door I wouldn't worry about it.
Your not pulling engines with your garage door are you?:lol_hitti
