What are the benfits of drywaling the ceiling? I am kind of on the fence about doing it. I told my builder not to worry about it, if I change my mind I'll do it later. Does it matter either way?

Hanging drywall on the ceiling made my garage space feel twice as bright, without the addition of any other lighting. I was amazed how much difference it made. In the scheme of things, it isn't that expensive, but makes the space both nicer looking, and more usable I feel. It's a no-brainer as far as I'm concerned.

I am onboard with this too. If the carpenter/builder is going to put up the dry wall on the walls now it will be lots cheaper in the long run to have it done now rather than have him come back later.

The other benefit is that the garage will be cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter wit the ceiling sheet rocked. The other suggestion I would have would be to insulate the ceiling joists and the wall studs before the dry wall goes up.

You'll thank me later:)

The benefit is having your contractor getting it done for you. Putting drywall on the ceiling is a major PITA.

Ceiling and walls are inslated, I guess you right about having somone else do it. Just trying to figure if its worth doing at all no matter who does it.
