I am getting ready to put a ceiling in my 44 x 30 pole barn. I want to use the 1/2 " 4 x 8 foam sheets with foil on both sides. Has anyone ever painted theirs? I am just exploring my options. I am also going to start my lighting. After reading the posts I decided to go with the 4 ft T-8's. If I go with the flush mount fixtures would it be a pain to cut them in the foam board? I have a 10 ft ceiling so clearance is not an issue as far as surface or flush mount. I am off to the postings again to figure out how many fixtures I need. thanks

I used the foil-back foam panels on my ceiling. They reflect light very well and add to the illumination. They've been up for 16+ years and still look great.

Paint them ??? I never tried it (nor would I ever want to) but I doubt very much if paint would cling very well to the foil.
