My contractor suggested I try Celect Cellular Composite side as an alternative to Hardie Plank siding. I ordered a few samples Monday and received them yesterday. Very impressed. Attractive, lightweight, good rigidity. Interlocks for good sealing and has Kynar coating so it resists mold, mildew, rot etc. Haven't price compared it yet to Hardie siding. Does anyone have any experience with this siding (ease of installation, wear)? If its comparable in price to Hardie board, I may go with this.

I am also interested in this product after receiving the samples in the mail. I found a thread on Houzz discussing the siding. It showed some failed installs but I don’t know if it was the siding or the siding installer. It seems like you have to nail it correctly (not over drive the nails, double nail the center so it expands to the edges) . It also appears that it needs lots of room to expand and contract.

I am going to say this way and it is "do you feel like you want to be a consumer tester". I don't on a permanent structure and I would rather and prefer to use what is known and works for a decorative surface as a siding on a building is that has endure years of weathering and the elements. I know as I was one those that ended up spending several thousands dollars on replacing defective LP siding on my manufactured home 20 odd years ago. It took another 5 years after that before I got a partial reinbursement from that.
