Do you have power at both locations? You can make wifi work if you'd rather avoid the monthly fees, there are true long range point to point bridges that will do 2.5 miles.

I bought an Arlo through Verizon almost 5 years ago. It has been very rugged and dependable. There is ZERO customer support but it is really pretty simple. The battery lasts for a couple months in nice weather. Cold weather really zaps it. make sure you have good cell coverage so it will grab a strong signal. My signal is pretty weak (two bars) so it struggles sometimes. Buy the rubber cover and a mount to protect it. It has been a nice item to have at my Country house, were I do not want to pay for wifi. Now that cell companies have $25 per month mobile WIFE boxes, I may move to a multi camera wifi based system and keep the wifi box inside the house to run them.

no, power is a problem, as well as wi fi. which is why i was thinking cellular. my cellular plan lets me have 4 free data sim cards, so i can run 4 different cams,, so it is very affordable. however,, can you send link for wi fi bridge? i used something similiar for a bullseye cam system for long range shooting, and it didn't work all that great. are they line of sight? because i worry about inclimate weather messing up line of sight signal

Ubiquiti Loco M5 claims 15km range.

But if you get free sims, cellular sounds like the way to go!

I have a Reolink and it works great. I don’t remember the data size of the SIM card I bought but it wasn’t a huge amount. I pre-paid $99 for the annual SIM card. I can live stream if I want but it will record a 30 second clip when the camera gets triggered. It’s easy to configure to your needs and I’m quite happy with it.

I just installed a reolink GO PT with the solar panel for power. The good news is it works, i get alerts with motion etc. EIOTclub SIM card, so an annual cost of about $100.
The bad news is customer service ***** bad. It took about 2 weeks to get the dang thing to work correctly. the only way to contact reolink is via email. They only reply once each day. Try this, try that, over and over. I would avoid reolink at all costs.

We have a Reolink 4g on our neighborhood gate. They have 5g now. Works just fine. I added it to my T-mobile account as a tablet for $20 a month. First week it was up we watched a bobcat walk up the road and through the gate at night. IR is pretty good. See lots of deer and other nocturnal animals.

I have Stealth inside the shop and Creative XP outside. The Creative was expensive but has worked well for several years. They both have reoccurring fees based on usage.

EIOT club is just a vendor for data only sim cards that work on same cellular network as at&t or t-mobile or verizon. I'm not sure what the diff is between it and the regular cell providers, I found them when searching for a sim card for the camera. They were a little cheaper so the route I took.

The systems I install for people usually pair a Dahua camera with a point to point bridge back to a central location.

Point to point bridge doesn't work too well through a mile of trees and hills. Cellular does.

900 MHz works surprisingly well thru trees even with very obstructed LOS. Couple of WISPs up North here use it exclusively and we've run it thru canyons with a ton of success.
