I have a second floor are in my shop with an old wood floor in bad condition. I need to put down another layer of something. I was just going to use plywood, but I started thinking about cement board like this:

It wouldn't really cost much more than wood. Could I use that as a finished floor? Will it hold up to foot traffic? I know it isn't really meant for that, but neither is plywood. If so how would I finish the joints to seal them and keep it smooth?
