Cement staining?

I'm look at every option out there for my, what we call here in California an oversized 2 car garage. At my old house I did Quikrete in the garage and it help up okay, other then the spots I didnt take my time on. After looking around, I saw a product for cement staining. Its usually used on patios, walkways...anything cement. Has anyone tryed it in the garage before and if so, how do you like it? According to everything Ive read, it penetrates the cement so fading, peeling is not a worry apparently. Should I just stick with the tried and proven? Im concerned about the welding I do, metal fab and normal garage activities.

staining the concrete is just one part of the process. Most exterior concretes are then sealed with an acrylics. In a garage, an acrylic would wear rapidly. Throw in road salt and snow and it's disappear like Houdini.

In a garage you have to grind off the cream layer of the concrete, then hone it a bit to remove grind marks, then use an water base stain or acetone dye. Then, an epoxy polyurethane sealer or polyaspartic coating with non slip texture.

SOunds like I'll be sticking with epoxy for the garage and stain the patio, driveway and walkways instead. Thanks for the info. Legacy, I'll be in touch for products.
