Hi all. In my quest to find a floor covering for my workshop, I talked to a company today that has had great success with cementitious urethane in environments much more severe than what I will put a floor though.

I'm just curious to see if anyone else has experience with this type of top coat. I hadn't even heard about it until today. I was labouring over polyaspartic vs polyurethane for my working home garage until I heard of this option...

What are you doing in your garage that requires such a heavy duty coating? Are you planning on turning your garage into a meat freezer to hack up a cow? Need to hose it out afterwards?

I've never installed one myself. Generally a coating like that is meant for a processing plant, or a commercial kitchen.

ITs a thick coating, probably not necessary to use in a garage?

Just looking for something with great impact resistance. Can polyaspartic match the performance?

We utilize that system (Cementitious urethanes) in a lot for USDA facilities and other food processing and to kitchens. Due to its ability to handle thermal shock! particularly at 1/4" thicknesses

Like mentioned by Shaun and Scotty this is a heavy duty floor system...with the price point that matches ($14 SF @1/4" thickness and up installed)

Additionally, this floor system is a very functionally floor and is not cosmetically pleasing (trowel marks, gator backed markings) to eye and should certainly be applied by Certified Applicator!

However it will definitely perform in a garage but in my opinion is "over kill"

Let me know if you have more questions?

good luck
