Central IL builders/contractors?

Hello,

I have been lurking for a long time. We finished our house this year and next spring I am planning on putting up an outbuilding. As the title suggests I am looking for those of you in my area that had a good (or bad) experience with a contractor in this area. I am looking to build in the 30x40 range and have not committed yet to pole barn or stick-built, although I am leaning towards stick. I'd also be interested in hearing about concrete contractors, specifically those who have experience with radiant heat systems. I am looking to start getting a few quotes together. I am already aware of Morton buildings and their quality of work (Morton, Il is about 15 minutes from me) but they seem on the higher end price-wise. Any input would be appreciated,

Hi Jeremy,
My name is Jeff and I live in Morton. I own a handyman business there. Where do you live exactly? Maybe I can make a recommendation. But I would start out by saying, you just finished your home, why not talk with the contractor who built the home? If he won't build an outbuilding maybe he can suggest someone who can. Someone he knows and recommends! Also, if you just built a house why not use the concrete contractor that did your house? If not Morton Buildings then how about Ragland Buildings? I am watching a Ragland going up here in Morton right now. I drive by it often and it appears to be quality work from what I can see from the road. I can tell you where it is if you are interested in seeing it. I'm sure you can drive up to it and talk with the contractor, tell him you're interested in his work, who did he use for the concrete pad, etc.

Hi Jeff,

Thanks for your response. I am just outside of Metamora. I am actually set up to talk with my home contractor this week. He doesn't do pole buildings though. I would prefer to use him but am afraid he might be out of my range. He doesn't seem to think the cost would be that much different between stick/pole. Regardless, I am just wanting to get a couple of quotes together and decide what to do from there. Ragland is on my list also. I almost bought a house that had a ragland building and it was really nice.
