central vac for garage use only?

Good day all!
I saw an ad for a wall mounted garage vacuum like so:

I am still in the process of finishing a newly built 20x40 garage and budget is wearing thin. A previously enjoyed central vac can be had for next to nothing.
Is there any reason why a central vac could not be used for the same purpose?

No.
But I've seen multiple p/u point vac systems in garages (somewhat like in a woodshop) that used a typical big "shop vac"- and PVC pipe.
That could be more useful and maybe even cheaper than that "previously enjoyed central vac".
