Cerakote vs Jet-Hot

I have a two-into-one exhaust system on my old BMW airhead. It's a black finish of some sort. It is looking a bit ratty so I'm contemplating having a hi-temp satin black coating put on.

There's a franchised Jet Hot shop about 220 miles away and a Cerakote guy 20-30 miles away that does it as a side job. The price is about the same. Both guys sandblast as prep.

Any thoughts on which way to go? I don't mind the drive to get a good job, but if I have a problem I don't want a lot of 440 mile round trips to get it satisfactory.

Thanks in advance to anyone with actual experience with either coating.

Cerakote is a much better product in my opinion. I had both on a set of headers on my G8. The jet hot lasted one season at the track before it started coming off and losing color. Professionally applied. I had them stripped and put on Cerakote. It's been on 5 years and still looks basically new. Lots of guys have the same opinion as me around here. Jethot is no where near the quality of Cerakote. What does the military and aviation use? Cerakote.....

Had Jet Hot, never again. $250 plus shipping, flaking/rust through coating in < 3 years in a drag car not a street car.

Went with CeraKote. $150 for the 2-into-1 headpipes and one muffler. Will report on longevity. It certainly looks good now.

Jet hot is ****. Have it on my '65 and it didn't last at all.

I did jet hot on a set of headers for a 427 ford, inside and out 17 years ago and it still looks acceptable with no pealing. I don't know if I would use it again but it worked this time.

go with cerakote and don't look back
I just had my headers, intake, water pump, timing chain and alternator done. now all I do is take a damp rag and wipe off the parts when they get dirty
