Ceramic Tile Floor?

Greetings,

Just joined forum yesterday and now have a question.

Has anyone used ceramic tiles for their garage floor? I live in East Texas so the weather is not as brutal as in the midwest so temperatures are usually above freezing all the time.

Home Depot has 12x12 tiles for 58 cents each which is cheaper than epoxy!

Any thoughts or suggestions?

Thanks!

Thanks 1969! I'm hoping there aren't any unforseen consequences to the use of tile.

As soon as I finished buffing out the grout, I got hit by the first unforseen consequence: my wife said she thought the room was too nice now and she thought it'd be a good playroom and exercise room.

I spilled some oil and rolled the car in. :)

Ceramic tile will not be nearly as strong as a clear-through porcelain tile, i would never use a ceramic in my house, let alone a garage....but to each their own right?

In my humble opinion:

Nice for a showpiece garage.

Not good at all for a really real garage.

Jack's garage is FAR from show-only - take a look at his posts and see how hard he uses it.
