CFL or T8's

I'm getting ready to install lights in my 42 x 32 x 12' 4.5" shop and I like the CFL lights but the high watt bulbs are large and hang down low. I'm installing a Bendpak 2 post lift and when I raise a vehicle on it I don't want to worry about hitting the lights with a car. Would you guys recomend installing the T8's or the CFL's off to the side of the lift? What is more efficient between the T8's and the CFL's? Thanks, Bedrok

I think T8s will give you a more even, less shadow appearance.....also T8s will last longer. CFLs dont seem to last as long. Granted fixtures are much cheaper for CFLs but youll be happier with strip lighting.

I got some T5's and I really like them. Some of the best lights I have ever used. They are 4 bulb and give off lots of light.

I think it boils down to how much time you are spending out there and what your budget is.

I had CFL's at first, but didn't have enough light. I put in some free t-12's and I'm changing them over to T-8's as the ballasts go bad. There is no comparison, go with the t-8's over the CFLs.
