Ouch $8.95 in shipping. Guess they dont know about the flat rate shipping box lol.

Probably as good as an independent shipper can get... ash was like $11 or so for shipping. I'm betting neither are making money on it.

Great price on the drivers. Ash allowed pre-orders and shipped as soon as he got them, Chads must have just gotten theirs too.

Good price for the set. I bought a set a year ago from amazon for regular price and found the handles and the tips to be super soft. I really liked the handles but the tips deformed faster than my HF cheapies. Any thoughts from other owners?

All my Felo tips are like new and some are over a year old.

I tried to unscrew a hard drive and my smallest flat tip (400 3,0x0,5x80) just deformed instead of turning the screw. My #2 drive head (mia) is wearing okay though. Glad you have better luck than me. Thanks for your input. :)

I just shipped 6 Knipex pliers for cheaper. Threw them in a box and dropped them off at USPS. I can guarantee you the pliers weighed more than 6 screwdrivers...

if you have a fleet farm close by they have the same set on the shelf for just over 20 bucks.

Not really. Some of the best pricing in the industry. I highly recommend them. Think you are ever going to read anything positive on reseller ratings. People move on when they have good experiences.

The screwdrivers in the set come in a plastic case which might make it bigger then the flat rate boxes. For the price of the set of drivers, people are ready complaining about $8.95 shipping? I got mine from Ash yesterday and am pretty happy with them for the cost.

Really? The black and red at our fleet are $22 for the 6-piece.

The Ergo's I thought are much more. These deals also come with the case which the Fleet Ergos do not, though I can't see most people really wanting a case for 6 screwdrivers?

Guys -

SOMEONE has to pay the cost for shipping, whether its you or the seller.
Add the cost of a box , packing tape + a smigen of overhead to keep it's doors open / website open...

At a very bare minimum, if let's say he use's UPS as his shipper, it's at least $7.50 for the smallest box shipped ground.

As consumers , yeah, we can run around and get the lowest shipping. Stuff a small cast iron vice in a flat rate box. All sorta's options....

Just keep in mind, there is no FREE lunch when it comes to shipping costs.
I love Amazon Prime for this very 1 reason.....

You know that USPS will pickup the flat rate boxes right?

As a business a flat rate is a different concept than for a GJ trade. I believe the flat rate boxes don't even offer insurance. Which would cost extra. A bunch of people here would complain if they were taken out of the case and jammed into the smallest flat rate box. We are talking about a few dollars here.

Anyways why doesn't someone here post a picture of the screwdrivers and the case.

do you use them at all? linking a reseller rating means nothing in my eyes. From my past experience using Chad's, I am a 100% satisfied customer with over 40 orders placed through them. Not a huge sample size, but enough to have me coming back for their pricing and quick turn around. I use them and tooltopia with no issues. Look who else stinks... :lol_hitti:lol_hitti

That's a dang good point. Tracking and insurance are not included with USPS flat rate IIRC, and you'd have to sell a LOT of sets at low margins to make up the loss of one lost or ripped off set!

I learned this the same way. At the business I work at customers have been spoiled by Amazon's shipping prices and flat rate boxes. We found also that USPS loses far more boxes UPS. If UPS lost a box our rep would take care of it and we would at least break even. USPS is a disaster.

I really am shocked that no one has posted pics yet. I guess maybe they should post them on Ash's thread since his are all delivered or soon delivered.

Sorry I opened a can o worms. But for something that cost $20 I have a hard time swallowing $9.00 or 45% of the cost of the item for shipping.

It does not say it comes in a box nor does it show a box..... just 6 drivers. That is why i thought 45% for shipping was high.

It it was on sale for $2 for the set, and cost $9 in shipping, would it still be considered expensive ?.

It COSTS money to ship a product.
Buy a pack of husky screwdrivers at Home Depot.
Buy the smallest box at staples that will fit it.
Pack and seal it with shipping tape.

Then go to UPS and USPS and get rates on how much it would ship either UPS ground or USPS.

After this homework, tell me if you were able to ship the item, properly packed in a nice *presentable* retail box , for less than $8.

Cost of the item itself is irrelevant. It is the cost to get the item to you and that costs money regardless if it was $3 Harbor Freight cheap screw driver set or a $100+ Snap On set.

Never understood why people conceptualize that shipping should be cheap if the item is inexpensive, but never would accept an exponential rise in shipping in the same size item is more expensive? Can not have it both ways.

For me, I value my time and the cost of gas to go get something. I am not going to pick the pepper out of the fly **** over $9 shipping if I waste 2-3 hours running around town trying to find a like item and then waste the same amount in gas money.

USPS flat rate boxes (and padded envelopes-which are extremely useful for shipping tool) come with $50 free insurance and free tracking. That and it takes 2-3 days to anywhere in the nation.

If you don't like the shipping, contact the business. Ask then to remove the packaging and put it in a smaller box.
