Ha yes I kind of veered off course didn't I? I came VERY close to an R8 V10 deal but we both really love the 59 vettes too. We made the right choice since we already have some modern cars. I do love the R8 though. Maybe as the prices keep falling then a v8 version might happen someday but that is really my wife's dream car. If you saw my new banner above the tv you'll see what my real goal is down the road! I really want to add all the variety to my car collection possible. The more I explore each end of the car spectrum the more fun I have. Each car is just so different yet still amazing.

Hope you are doing well!

I'm doing great, Chad. I think this year is going to hold a lot of good stuff in store for you and your amazing cars and garage. Look forward to seeing you play with them all. Now, I will await the arrival of an Enzo.

Just curious, how much ceiling height do you have? With lift all the way up, you still have a considerable amount of ceiling height to spare. I've been discussing with my wife about reengineering my ceiling trusses to accommodate a for post lift eventually. This would allow more floor work space in my garage. Right now I'm looking to gain about 15", which allows a safe margin with my wife's car, and our sports coupe.

Right around 11.5' if I recall. I can actually go up quite a bit more if needed but my wife's car is so low I don't really need to. You would really enjoy a lift I'm sure. Glad i got one. Let me know what you plan to do - I'd love to see your set up.

Hi yes I probably have a little more to add. Really enjoying the new lift although not doing any real heavy work with it yet. Got another car project to update on though!

Crazy work week but hope to add some updates this weekend. Thanks for checking in and hope your projects are going well!

My garage is back to all red cars. My wife is kicked back to the driveway again but she is ok with it. Found a great price on this 1970 big block 396 chevelle. Needs cleanup, interior odds and ends and some bodywork eventually but a really fun car for me and the boys to tinker on and flip for a few bucks if we want. Planning to finish some interior work first and then start on the engine to completely makeover the engine bay with some new parts and cleanup. I might switch the TH400 over to a 4 speed Muncie too!

We all had a blast driving around in the Chevelle as a family. With the front bench seat all 5 of us get in there and slide around all the corners on those old vinyl seats with no seat belts. My wife really likes driving this car too. Says I should sell the Camaro and keep this instead.

Look'n good! Man you have a nice little collection/stable there my friend. Can't wait to see what you do with the Chevelle.

Agreed. Might as well order 2 more lifts at this point. Then you have parking for 6.

I wish! It really needs some new quarters where the vinyl top connects. It has some rot there that you don't notice until you get within 10'. Really great looking shine and looks good until you get up close though. Kind of nice that it can be driven and parked just about anywhere without worrying too much though.

Just got caught up on all 584 posts and wow. Definitely an amazing progression count me among the jealous. I can't wait to start collecting like you have and get to the point where I need a lift. My wife's enamored with an Audi R8 like yours. Can't say that's something to complain about. I know I def want a 69 camaro, 60 vette, and then something European most likely a new 911 or if my childhood wanna be James Bond gets the better of me an Aston Martin. Definitely drooling for now just have my F150 but I'm planning. You have an amazing garage and collection.

Thank you! Yes great news you have a car gal too! Just keep focusing and add the right car over time and you'll have some great ones in no time at all. I agree a 911 of any year would be such a great car. Maybe get a nice 2007 or 2008 911 instead of the S5? Find something that might actually be going up in value over the years makes more sense too. Thanks again and I'm looking forward to seeing your garage change in the coming years!

Agreed with this.

Thanks Dubber! I'm thankful to get to enjoy them. I really, really love cars of all shapes and sizes! (but red usually wins out!)

I'll post a pic tomorrow of my Lego movie lobby display.
The one that had the spinning mix and match cubes.
Unfortunately it takes up about 9sqft and about 6ft tall.
It's up for trade if you want it. It will break down flat for shipping.

Love your '59 Corvette small block and the Viper addition to your stable ! I once owned a white 1967 Corvette convertible with a 327 cid small block and a 4 speed manual trans - to this day I regret selling that car !!!!

I did post a response to your question about the Ferrari 430 Spider vs. a Ferrari 458 Spider and my input to you.

Italian cars have lots of foibles that can be solved only by proprietary Ferrari or Lamborghini parts and their service techs, which normally = huge $$$$.

Best - Dave

Thanks Dave! That's great you know exactly how fun a classic corvette is too. Mine has a NOM 327 in place of the 283 and it runs really well.

I think I'm trying to find the Italian equivalent of the joy I have in my classic convertible corvette. Thanks!

Chad -

With others' perspectives on Ferrari exotics, here is a thread I read this morning & immediately thought of you.

It is worth a read in my opinion - 360 Modena vs. 458 Italia, and Spider variants and the performance 'joys' of the 458's DCT. :3gears:

https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/458-italia-488/555293-considering-458-time-few-questions.html

Best - Dave

That was a fun thread to read! Thanks for sending that and OK, now I'm totally convinced to stop messing around with anything but a 458 or 488! It would be much longer to save but glad they will depreciate over the years.

I meant to ask you - do you enjoy your older vipers? I've had a 2006 and love my current 2013 SRT but I have always wanted to add a blue/white '96 to my collection. I think they are still the most beautiful and curvy cars and I love how raw vipers are. Since I love muscle cars they give all that feel except handle a lot better.

My problem will be either play with more $50k cars every year or two or just get that 458 in about 4 years...hmmm? '96 Viper, 32 Ford, 57 Chevy, R8 are all on my list to obtain but I bet that 458 trumps them all. First world problems I know - I'm so addicted to cars!
