I've bought a lot of stuff from Chad's over the years. Always got what I paid for, but sometimes it took three months. At first, they didn't give any "in stock" notification and if you ordered something they didn't have in stock it'd be three months to get it off the boat from Germany. But since I wasn't in a rush, that was fine. A few years ago, they started noting some sort of "in stock" status on the item page, and if it says "ships in 24 hours" or similar, I've gotten it in less than a week. When in doubt, send a chat message to them and ask if it's in stock. They used to almost always have the best prices, but in the last few years that hasn't been true. If you need it in a few days, you're probably better to spend a few dollars more and get it from Amazon or KC Tool.

I am not trying to take food out of the mouth's of American middle men, but I've had good success buying stuff from Amazon.de this year for a significant fraction of what I'd pay a US store who is middle manning the transaction.

I dont begrudge them for it, they have to make a profit to justify tying up the capital and putting in the effort to run a business. And you do get the convenience (sometimes) of it being easier to get.

But if you're looking for German made tools, are buying at least around $150 worth in one shot, and can wait a month to get them, it's much cheaper to buy from Amazon Germany.

Seems like PB Swiss has some restrictions and I can't order from them Amazon.de

If I was going to buy some German steel toolbox or steel tool storage, that's something I might buy from a US-based store because they should have possession of it, know it's not dented before they ship it, and will be easier to do replacement if it is damaged in transit.

Same for Japanese tools and Amazon.JP

Do I have to make another account for amazon.jp? My normal amazon account doesn't seem to work. Checking out some lobtex/TOP adjustables.
Edit: Ehhh, might not matter anyway. The shipping from Japan makes it a pretty slim savings, anyway.

Yes. It's some kind of legal thing. Amazon.DE uses your same regular American Amazon account credentials. But Amazon.JP requires a new account. Can use the same email, name, address, everything but I think the Japanese market has some different IT security data laws in place or something that require this. Or the entity is run separately technically for legal reasons, I'm not sure, but I looked into it, and it's just how it is. I though it was a mistake.
