Chain Hoist Frame

My father in law gave me an old Fairline L-70 3 Ton Chain Hoist and I want to use it to lift items out of the back of my pickup, off a trailer, maybe pull an engine, etc... I'm thinking about building some sort of A-Frame and\or Gantry crane on wheels for portability inside and outside of the shop (40x60x14)

Buy one or build my own?

Anybody got any experience with this type of project?
