Chain identification trick

So I buy a ton of chains at auction; they often throw them into the box lots like free samples of tide. I keep them in an old craftsman box and to make grabbing the proper size, I made these little marking discs, secured on with a zip tie or whatever.

All my hd wrecker chains are tagged like that at hanging end. When I have 30 chains in a side box I know which one I grab from its hook. Works very well

I used to paint washers, yellow for grade 70, orange for grade 80 and blue for grade 100 then just stamp the length. At the time I was towing I couldn't find brass tags locally, looks good.

I must be dense. I was thinking this was about roller chain until I read the reply above mine.
