Wow - super work, great skills!

Obviously you do this for a living - what is your history / training? Family business?

I have been interested in wood working and mechanical stuff all my life went to vocational school for cabinetmaking and was a mechanic and welder in the army, the woodworking I have pursued as a profession. I left a furniture company I designed for ten years ago to start my own shop.

It has been some hard work but it has been worth it.

Its Cambell's conversion varnish, need to add catalyst when using. I also use their pre cat lacquer on work that will not see as much use, both hold up very well the conversion varnish is a bit tougher.

It is just a clear coat, as the cherry ages it will get a deep color tone, it should be a crime for anyone to stain cherry.

Wow. Beautiful work. I love how they range in size. Is this a set for a customer or just demo/show?

These chairs I designed custom for a church the one with arms is for the priest, then deacons and down. Just about every aspect of life has a pecking order.

Those are exquisite. I'm glad that your own shop has worked out well for you. Easy to see why after seeing pics of those pieces.
