Don't be mad, your trim looks nice. Coping takes practice but, it's far superior to mitering. 2 tips. 1) 45 the end of the molding as if you were mitering the corner and the cut line is the line to follow with the coping saw. 2) Cope the molding and check the fit before you cut it to length.

I would never be mad at getting a tip. It sounds like you know your stuff.

Another trick is to tip the work piece when cutting the miter. By this I mean if the case is proud of the wall lift the front of the work piece slightly. Lift the back slightly if the case is recessed slightly.

That is a good tip. I'm going to have to try that next time i do this type of work

This plus, as your coping, back cut a LOT. The thinner you make the front of the trim the better your cope will look. Another trick is to take the blade out and spin it 180*. Some people are better at coping if they cut on the pull stroke. Some are better on the push stroke. You won't know until you try it.
