Good afternoon,
I finally bought a used challenger VLE10 lift and got it up and bolted down. My problem now is that the arms were not removed when I bought it and I installed it’s a different way then they had it set up. So now the long arms are in the front and the short arms are in the back. I’m trying to switch them around but the pins won’t come out. I don’t think they are seized because I placed a bottle Jack under them and the came up about a 1/4 of an in and then started lifting both arms. Am I missing something? I’m think there something holding it in by design that I can see or am missing. Anybody have any experience with one of these lifts that has some advice.
Thanks in advance

Looks like it’s time for a BFH to get the seized pins moving.

I imagine they come out the top, so you’re going to have to raise the arms and improvise a drift of some sort to lower the carriage on the drift. The weight should move the pin up, but you still may need the BFH.

You may have to support the arm, as the weight of the arm is binding the pins.

My challenger lift has retaining rings on the bottom of the pins. You didnt mention removing them.

That’s what I was looking for. Exactly where are the located. I have looked and don’t see any pins. I still do t think these things are seized because the do move. It seems like something else is holding them
Thanks

I have an old Challenger 2 with removeable pins for the arms. I have removed the pins several times to switch the arms. I see no provisions for a retaining ring. I just push the pins out to change the arms. Sounds like your arms are catching on something.

Well all it took a lot of pounding and some help from a buddy but the pins are out. I’m going to wire brush them clean and apply anti seize and put them back on. Thanks for all your help.
