Challenger 2 Post Lift Identification?

Working on getting my shop ready for when I retire (soon) and decided I needed a two post car lift. I decided I’d rather have a used commercial model than take a chance on the many Chinese discount models. I found a mechanic shop selling two Challengers for a decent price and bought them. They said one is a 7,000lb and the other a 5,500lb. They’re both much heavier built than the discount 10,000lb jobbies. They appear to be all there but have been painted over a time or two and I can’t find any identification on them. I know Challenger is still in business and should have spare parts. The boys’ Dad at the shop bought them years ago, has since passed and they didn’t know any details. I know they’re heavy. We loaded both of them on my 18’ trailer and it was a load. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Dave

The blue one is the 7,000lb. The photos are before they disassembled the lifts. They were completely disassembled when I got them. Also got an old Reed #104 vise with rotating base from them. It was sitting in a corner, on the floor covered in rust and dirt.

Reed #104 Vise.
Needs a base lock handle but other than that in good shape. Cleaned it up a bit. It was filthy.

There should be a plate on one of the columns with a model number and serial number for each lift. Once you have that info, a quick call to Challenger should be enough to find out if parts are still available and who the Challenger dealer in your neck of the woods is.

The Challenger lifts of today are the result of the evolution of two different companies, Vogt Brothers Manufacturing and who later became just VBM. There're some long time dealers around the country that likely still have parts as well. SVI International is the one I remember but there have to be a bunch of others. Good luck!
