Challenger 2 post lift paint color

I recently added a Challenger 2-post automotive lift to the shop. 9K pound, model # 27000.

While it may be in excellent working order, it is starting to show its age and needs a repaint. I had planned to hit it with some oil-based enamel and just roll it on....after a good cleaning and scuffing, of course.

My question is...anyone have a clue what paint best matches the deep red Challenger uses from the factory? Don't laugh, but it kind of looks like International Harvester red, or Allis Chalmers red. Something to that effect.

If anyone has done this, or has a lead on where to find a color code, let me know. I've googled and googled and found zero results.

Why not paint it a color you like better, rather than what Challenger likes?
Is there a color that matches your garage decorating scheme better than the red?

Looks very close to Ford Red Engine paint.

I'm not against that. I do have a 22' bench top and cabinets painted a custom color that matches Craftsman red. I could just use that, but I wanted to try and match the existing Challenger paint in case I don't end up rolling on new paint on every square inch of it.

Actually, no. Never did, but then again life has been hectic and I haven't been able to do much about it. I've just been using it as is. I'm leaning towards asking for some paint samples from a paint dept and tape them to the lift to see which one matches better.

I'm thinking of just spray painting mine. I might go get a couple different colors of red spray paint and test some spots to see what matches the best

If the lift was powder coated originally (possible, I guess, but it wouldn’t be my first guess), the color would almost certainly be one of fhe RAL series. A good paint shop or powder coater will have a RAL swatchbook.

It's paint, not powder coat. I used to have a powder coat booth in the shop. I can identify it quickly.

I'm looking at my RAL swatchbook now. RAL3011 = Brown Red, sort of a ruddy color. RAL9005 = Jet Black. (I use Sherwin Williams All-Surface Enamel waterborne in RAL9005 as my general brush-on black around the house.) A good paint shop will have formulations for these shades in a base of your choice.

RAL3011 is about halfway through the reds on this swatchbook fan, two colors after that out-of-place dark brown and two colors before that distinct pink.

Actually went to Sherwin williams and got some paint mixed up. Just went with a DTM enamel. I'm going to do the columns in RAL3011 and the carriage and arms in RAL9004. I think that black is more of a satin color which I like. Have used that to powder coat parts in the past.

I was able to pick up a gallon of each for $90 total. Arms are coming off and going out for powder coat tomorrow. Hopefully get her looking a bit more proper.
