I never owned a lift and I tried researching this question but had no clear answer. I am looking for your input to see if I got my calculations right. Sorry in advance for being "mathy".

How much working space do I have under a lifted car? Do I need to order a 2' extension?

- I am 6'2" (74")
- If I use my van as my example, 2013 Sienna - 72" and 8" from ground to frame then 66"

If I take a look at the specs of a CL10V3,

- Floor to overhead switch is - 11'2.5" (134.5")
- Rise Height ("Pads in heighest position") 74"
- Smallest vehicle I can use to maximize height is (134.5" - 74" = 60.5" Vehicle which will give me exactly 6'2" of working space underneath.

So with taking all that into consideration, if I lift up my 66" van till it hits the overhead switch does that mean I only have 66"-60.5" = 5.5" ...

74" - 5.5" = 68.5" of working space? Am I calculating this right?

Thanks all!

You may have to factor in the height of the locks (if that matters to you). Plus the room to get the lift off the locks to lower.

The CL10-3 is taller than the numbers you are quoting for the regular CL10 by an extra 3' With the CL10-3 you would have plenty of room for your van to be lifted to the full 74.5" height. Even with a CL10-2 you should be fine.
