Challenger E10 lift

My son’s school has dropped their auto program since the teacher retired. They are now debating selling the 2 post lift. I was just looking at lifts to put into my 30x40x12 garage, so this may work out to be a situation of great timing.
It’s a Challenger E10. From searching online I see Snap-On is the parent company of Challenger. So I guess it’s not a fly by night brand, but anyone out there own this brand of lift? Any input or opinions welcome.

Oh, also, I own a 2011 Duramax which is shown to weigh 9300-9900 lbs. The lift is rated at 10,000 lbs. Is this pushing the envelope too much?

Your duramax. Unless it’s a crew cab dually 4x4 with equipment in back it’s under that weight you posted
You’ll have a hard time reaching proper lift points for crew cab long bed

That’s challengers cheaper line of lifts compared to the HD cl series

A 10K rated lift is good for 2500 lbs max at each arm (5K each pair). If you believe your truck may be over 9000 lbs, you will want to weigh your pickup at each axle to determine if a 10K lift is sufficient. I can't imagine even a one ton long bed is over 5K at either axle, but if you've got a work box, all bets are off. I'd want to be sure in any event. The weakness of most home lifts is the concrete anchors, or the attachment between the arms and the carriages.

The "assembled in the US" Challengers are still probably better than most Chicom lifts. I for sure would not want to lift a heavy diesel pickup on a non-certified lift. I have a Mohawk 10k lift that easily handles my Ram 3/4 ton 4dr diesel, but I also know that it's overkill for most home shop guys. I'm also pushing 4500 lbs at the front axle, so I'd be very, very careful lifting it on a lighter lift, even if it were rated at 10K

Short bed or long bed. This is what efforts are reach to the pad around the def tank and the rear spring hanger.....

My service information software shows that 9500 lbs is the "gross" weight which is the weight of the truck plus cargo capacity, fuel etc. Curb weight is 5995 lbs. I dont think you will have any problem at all.

I have the newer version, the VLE10 and it is working very well. It was installed about a year ago. I don’t have a big truck so I can’t provide any data points on that subject.

I have the same lift and it is great.I have not tried to lift my truck ( Duramax) but I’m not sure I would feel comfortable with it. But to be fare it makes me nervous to lift any vehicle. Nothing to do with the lift just me getting into my head. Lol

I have an LE10 in my shop and it has no issue lifting my 2015 Cummins Ram (around 8k lbs)
