Challenger tool chest

Found this challenger tool chest for 20$ today. A strip of the original green paint can still be seen in the tray.

That is what is confounding me. Why did they paint it!

Um, how did they paint it with the "challenger" sticker on there? Is that grey paint under the sticker?

Taped I assume. The green can be seen in places. There is also some grey on the decal

Disregard then. The paint under the decal, in the areas where the decal has holes, looked grey to me.

Very cool; a nice pickup. I like the handles. The tool chest appears to be similar to many of the Challenger hand tools I have; good quality, w/ few frills.

I was shocked to find the tray was still there! Don't think it saw much use. Also says manufactured by Penens corp on decal. May help in dating it.

Anyone have any tips on removing the grey paint? Looks like a brush job
