Looking to pick up this little champion compressor. 30 gallon 3hp 230V. Owner says it is 10 years old and used for hobbies. Doesnt seem to be true to me.

From what little info I have found online, it produces 11.8cfm or 7.8cfm. The lower value is in accordance with CAGI/PNEUROP acceptance test code PN2CPTC2 or PN2CPTC3. Thats pretty foreign to me though.

Owner is asking 300 canadian.

Any insight is appreciated

You can find specs on that pump on the grainger website. Personnally, I wouldn't pay $300 for it.

I cant seem to find anything on that pump. It lists as a cv1. Anyone car to comment on what they think it is worth. Not sure if it has an hour meter on it or not.

Is there any markings or codes on these that tell you their manufactured date?

id offer hundred bucks and go from there. without knowing the usage of it, if it ends up needing to be rebuilt then it's still worth it. Go up to about 200. Their should be a date stamped on the tank at least on that metal plate.

Went and looked at this the other night. Man was it noisy and I thought slow. Owner grabbed the belt cage and said thats the root of the noise. Didnt correct it in my ears.

He also runs it to 120psi when there is a sticker on the tank that says 100psi max.
It was manufactured in 1986, and his brother inlaw used it at his detail shop "to blow out cars".

I didnt offer him any money, should have but didnt. Called a few places since and found out tha, that pump is discontinued. They have switched to a smaller piston size so parts are not all available anymore. The replacement pump is a 3 cylinder unit now and is $900.

I emailed him a lowball offer, see if he bites
