I've done a bunch of research and haven't found a clear answer on how to identify an OEM Champion pump vs a clone.
Specifically RV15A, R15B, and R30 pumps. I've seen some black painted pumps being sold in the used market, and it seems that they're probably non-champion clones but I was hoping someone had accurate info on this? These aren't generally vintage - i mean they're at most 15 - 20 yrs old. (Is that vintage now? lol)
If it doesn't have Champion stamp or model plaque... does the black paint indicate aftermarket? I was under the impression Champion pumps came exclusively in green.
As an example - if the seller claims the pump was purchased new, was only used for 1 week before removed from service, but the pump is painted black I'm thinking it's not a champion?
