I've read things like there are only one or two pumps still made in the USA. Saylor Beall is usually one of them. I thought there were three, Saylor Beall, Jenny and Champion. I have read that Quincy parts are now made overseas. Can anyone clarify?

Pretty sure my Champion has a "Gardner Denver" on it. I'll check tomorrow for you and confirm.

Champion also uses some Schulz pumps to keep from being priced out of the market. Looking at their own literature, they definitely do not call our MADE IN USA, so they must be importing all their pumps. If they were American made, it would be all over their website and literature.

regardless of where they're made, I would consider their design overall. For home shop, I believe Champion w/ R15 pump is the best one. I wouldn't even mess with saylor beall or Quincy, especially Quincy QT for the price range.

I own a used Champion 80gal compressor w/ PL15 pump (basically a pressure lubricated R15) and I can service it w/o having to use an engine crane or folk lift. You can't say that about SB compressor.

Champion make great compressor, that's why there are so much service truck using them in my area.

I am a believer in Champions but was wondering before I bought one again. My new pump came in yesterday and is marked "Designed and assembled in U.S.A." so I guess at least some of the parts were "made" somewhere else.

Sorry to dig up this old thread, but I found out some information relevant to the OP question. I asked the west coast rep for Champion compressors specifically if the R15 pump was 100% American made or just assembled in America. He replied that the "Pumps Made in Princeton Illinois"
