I picked up this compressor from a buddy last week for $50 and he has had it for years. I was wondering if anyone has ever heard of it.
Opposite the flywheel is the model and serial #, is there a serial #.

Well of course it does, it's a Champion. You'd best make sure that tank is sound though. I seldom see compressor tanks that old that don't have some rust perforation. Not only does it still work but it puts my 2 year old Kobalt to shame!![]()
Your air filter does not look like it could be stock either? Kind of looks after market maybe.
I don't think that yours requires more than 1 1/2 H.P.
Would be a good idea to Hydrostatic test the tank
Do you have any documentation? Or know of any? I'm looking for any on these early models.
Thanks Guys I called Garner-Denver and all they could tell me about it was that it was shipped out to Reliable Tire Service in Grand Rapids Michigan on 10/21/1938.

The air filter is a K&N
It has a 2 H.P. motor on it
How would I go about testing it?
No I have no documentation, the only thing that Champion could tell me was the ship date and who it was shipped to.
