Okay, so does anyone know about the quality of Champion drill bits?

I've been eyeing this set, and don't know whether to buy, or buy a guaranteed made-in-USA brand from Enco.

For some strange reason, I dreamt about these drill bits last night. I was at an imaginary mom & pop hardware store, and the only product they had were 'Champion' drill bits, and they were all over the store shelves. I searched every product and could not find a country of origin! Talk about weird. It's not like I haven't dreamt about tools before, but drill bits??!

Anyways, there are other sets available, but would I be better off say, with Triumph via Enco?

What you're going find out is that these bits are Chinese made. In some respects as long as they are high speed steel (HSS) you should be fine. Now the add states HSS but there are different grades of HSS. As long as the flutes are fully ground and not "twist forged" with the lips and relief angles properly ground with correct proportions you should be fine.

IMHO every home shop needs a 1/16 - 1/2" set x 64's so go ahead and splurge.

It's okay, I've had MUCH weirder dreams in the past, and so has she. It's certainly not the first time I dreamt about tools, and definitely not the last.

Some of my dreams are so over the top that they put Michael Bay's films to shame.

I was looking to buy a few new silver & deming drill bits and came across Champion bits on Amazon. I Googled the brand and this thread came up. =)

Haven't tried these bits in the past 5 years, and ended up going with Triumph earlier today.

Good news is that I don't remember the last time I had a dream about drill bits.

I had a dream last night about a set of Matco wrenches that are currently listed in the Classified forum...and in my dream, they were the oddest wrenches you can possibly imagine, with huge, wide, misshapen handles. Still, it was enough to convince me to buy them this morning....sadly, when I checked, the price wasn't what I'd "remembered" in my dream.
