Cleaning this for a lady with a antique store here in town. She was asking $40.00 for it and after three months I told her I would try to make it look better for her since it didn’t sell. She gives me first dibs on everything she gets in...probably finish it in the next few days while it’s too cold to go outside much..07ef82675299a9b51dfa8663721f058c.jpgc6e63dd20819fb702bdc37402ef46963.jpge7cca1d168c156706b7825d61dc838fc.jpge4d7327cc78804f7018e6e8e859df9b1.jpg..aec413bc9f659f3ac39312c1a1823671.jpg

I believe that those were made for aviation spark plugs. Notice two holes for each number, and aircraft engines have two spark plugs per cylinder. The most common aircraft engines were 4- and 6-cylinder. The big holes are for the 18mm threads.

Yeah I know, used to work on them, but thanks. Apparently the idea was to keep the antiseize from getting off the threads and on the insulators. IO-470 and such sixes, maybe even the Ranger trainer engines. They still sell the stand, but without the embossed champion name.

Probably breaking the rules about bumping your own thread, but oh well. I did work on airplanes for a couple years, and often wish I had stayed the course. Loved airplanes since I was a kid, and who didn’t? Minimum wage for pay, great devotion on my part. Got a small raise and some praise but in the end it seemed I would never be able to afford my own airplane and etc. still miss the ‘66 Cessna 310. Two Lycoming fuel injected 470’s ...Glory Days...

I’d love to see it when it’s restored. I haven’t seen one before. I have noticed it’s hard to even find Champion plugs anymore I went to get some for my Escape and they had pretty much everything but Champion and told me it would be 4-6 weeks before they could get any Champion plugs in so I went with Autolite.
