I am building up a compressor from parts. I have 2 new single stage 2 cylinder pumps. One is a Champion BVAS and the other is a Curtis ES-10. I am trying to decide which one to use. The Curtis is higher flow, but for this particular application cfm is not very important, both will do the job fine. Which pump would hold up better and be more maintenance free?
Curtis:
disk valves, made in China by Fusheng
Champion:
reed valves against aluminum head, roller bearings, made in USA
The Champion is a more expensive pump new. The Curtis is made by Fusheng in China, but it seems well made, not typical Chinese quality. I wonder if the Champion might hold up better even though it has reed valves on an aluminum head.
