Chanellock plier grips

My pump pliers and side cutters are still pretty great shape... except for the grips. Are there any replacement grip options for these pliers?

I know there a rubberized epoxy type grip you can "dip" the tools into. Never tried it and it looks kind of hokey.....

I'm tired of my grips going out in a matter of months, most likely from scraping them across the concrete and tossing around with other tolols in my portable box. Another question would be what type of pliers have grips that hold up to extreme duty?

Snap-On plier grips hold up, but pricey.

There are companies that specialize in Plastisol coating, which is what the factory grips are on most pliers. It's a whole different animal than plasti-dip.

I've considered more than once opening a business re-coating pliers to their factory grips.

Heat shrink tubing is an option too.
