Change in KRSC46

Any one know why they changed the lid on the KRSC46,,,,both of these have a raised lid top, but the green lid is thicker....if that makes sense. I know the purple cart is older . Any advantages?

Probably to beef it up a bit. My older style is a bit flimsy

The purple one looks less secure, I can see someone prying up on the lid with little effort
