Hello i have 2 chinese ratchets one in 1/2" drive and one in 1/4" drive i am curious about what makes a ratchet good, and tought i could change the internals with something from a known company. The handle its good and fits my hands nicely but when i use this i'm afraid to use too much force because they seem fleemzy.
The internal mechanism is the 2 pawl design. Il take pictures tomorow if you can't understand what i'm saying.

regards

If you think about it a good ratchet is the one tool in your tool box that gets used the most. Now Vicelord you said:

"When I use this i'm afraid to use too much force because they seem fleemzy". (sp)

Therefore a good ratchet in your hands should never give you that feeling; with that I will let others on the GJ tell you more of what makes a "GOOD" ratchet from a poor mediocre ratchet.

No it's not.
First of all look from where i am.
Second i can't aford premium tools i'm a student and the minimum full time salary here is around 220$ a MONTH so i got to work with what i can aford.
I bought a chinese wratchet set for 45$ and when i brake a socket or something i try to buy a better one. So far i replaced 18 with WGB and 10,17,19 with Mob - Ius.
Lastly i can work with any tool and if it doesn't brake it's good enought, don't forget that the tools don't work alone.

Regards
