I just bought a box of bulbs and changed them all, even the ones that wern't bad. What a difference! I didn't know my garage could be that bright! Why didn't I just do this last year. I had forgotten one corner of my garage even existed.

I thought they just like fizzel out one day, not slowly over time?? go figure. How old were thosebulbs in ur fixtures?

They do have a gas charge inside them, which can leak/get weaker over time. I've got some due for replacement for sure.

Oh damn. We have ones that are like 10-15 years old lol. I have a ton of new ones so maybe Ill pop them in. thanks for the heads up

Yes, the gas charge gets weak with time and your eyes adjust because it happens so slowly. Most major dept stores change them once a year. Try different 'kelvin' bulbs, cool white isnt the only game in town.

Man I figgered it was just my eyes shootin craps like the rest of the ol' body! Whew! That's a relief!!!

Flourescent lamp light output does degrade over time, as was mentioned. Simply cleaning the lamps makes a big difference as well. That layer of dirt is like a blind in front of a window.

WHAT A DIFFERENCE!!!!!!! One of the bulbs above the workbench was actin funny, so i replaced the both and when I turned the light back on I was friggin blinded. It illuminates 2x the area it used to.

Mine are all 9 years old and I also have a box sitting there taking up space. I love making space by getting something installed.
