Changes to a steel pole barn?

I am looking at a property that has a 30x50 Morton steel building on it. The wall height is only 9'6" with a peak height of 11'6". The entry doors are in the gable side and this can't change due to the lay of the land. Does anyone know if it would be possible to "dormer" or modify one side to raise the roof height to clear a lift?

I have a steel pole barn. It's about 80'x80' and was originally set up for horse breeding.

I modified the building to accommodate a six car garage, workshop, tack room, storage room, etc. It was big enough where I was able to keep most of the animal stalls and from one side it looks just like a horse barn. The other side is my shop and the whole thing works just fine.

I found it very easy to work with and modify the pole barn structure. New panels were easy to get, matched perfectly and didn't cost too much. The structure was easy to change and now that I'm done, there's no telling that the building wasn't originally built exactly as it now stands.

I can't see why you couldn't with a little engineering raise the roof in a certain spot to accommodate the lift you desire, almost like a metal knee wall to raise the roof in that area

I have a friend here who specializes in raising pole barns. Mostly for livestock but he'll do anything. What he does is strip the steel off, go around and cut each post halfway up with a chainsaw. Then he goes around the building with a heavy forklift, lifting each post 3-4" as he goes and putting in spacers and scabs, around and around until he gets the height he wants. Then depending what you want for appearance you can put on new steel, put the old back on and put clear panels or whatever at the top for light, anything. I'm sure your Morton warranty would go bye-bye but it might be worth it for the clearance.
