So I have an old snowflame corn stove that i bought back when i could get free corn and heated my house for about 6 years with it. No more free corn so the stove got put out in the garage and is sitting there doing nothing

I have looked recently into converting it into a pellet stove which means changeing it from positive draft to negative draft. Sparta coop makes a conversion kit but cost wise not sure if it is worth it to buy there kit or fab one up myself.

here is thier kit:

and thier instructions:

Could i not just take the blower from the original unit and use it for the negative draft blower??

I live here too and gotta say that the pellets have been under 200$ per ton for many years. Dang cheap heat.

Pellet stoves have been available from Englader for a long time too, very dependable and no frills for about 1000$. I wouldn't mess with a kit to modify your stove, cut the line on that one.

I've got an Amaizablaze 4100 (a Snowflame sibling) that's been converted to pellets. Use it to heat my house. I got it after it had the multi-fuel kit installed so I could be wrong on a few things. The internal combustion motor still gets used. This motor/fan blows through the burn pot. Mine went out towards the end of last season, while it still burned (with only the exhaust/negative fan), it was very lazy and inefficient. Burn pot would fill up in a few hours. The multi-fuel kit adds another fan, it gets connected to the rear of the stove and the exhaust hooks up to that. This fan pulls the exhaust out by creating the negative pressure in the stove. I can get a picture in a day or so when I shut it down to clean it if you want.

If you do end up going with pellets, when you install the plug in the air balance tube, make sure it's in there good. Mine kept coming out while cleaning. I've got a few magnets holding it in right now. Eventually I'll silicone it in place.

Wow! I've really enjoyed the Seattle fireworks shows. We used to take the ferry over from Bremerton and time the sailing just right so that we could watch the whole show from the top deck.
